ADMIRE THE CHARM OF LISBON AT NIGHT
We will pick you up at your hotel or apartment and head to Belém.
You will admire the charm of Lisbon at night and its illuminated monuments, on a scenic tour through its main sites.
PASTEIS DE BELÉM
In fact, our tour will begin here, in the emblematic pastry shop with a tasting of the local sweets - Pastéis de Belém, world-famous and unique custard tarts, fresh from the oven. Tip: Before trying a Pastel de Belém, remember to sprinkle it with cinnamon and powdered sugar (Portuguese people do like that and it’s just delicious! Mmmmmm!)
BELÉM
It´s an old district of Lisbon where, in the 16th century, many Portuguese navigators have departed to search for the New World. Its powerful monuments make us feel the glorious time of the Portuguese Empire.
JERONIMOS MONASTERY, BELEM TOWER AND MONUMENT OF DISCOVERIES
We will see the Jerónimos Monastery and the Tower of Belém, both declared World Heritage sites by the UNESCO, and also take a peek at the Monument to the Discoveries, masterpiece that highlights the characters related to the Golden Age of the Portuguese Empire.
DINNER WITH FADO
It’s time to have dinner and listen to Fado that will complement your meal, giving voice to the tradition full of soul and heart at a very typical Portuguese restaurant...
In 2011 Fado was also classified as world Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
"BAIXA POMBALINA"
After dinner, let’s soak up Lisbon’s aesthetic melancholy in Alfama, the neighbourhood where fado was born. From amateur fado to well-known fado singers, we’ll take a look at the best fado restaurants to sample traditional dishes. The authentic fado is in Alfama.
THE EDUARDO VII PARK
And to conclude this evening we will stop at the spectacular viewpoint of the "Baixa" of Lisbon, or "Baixa Pombalina", as it is also known, in honor of Marques de Pombal, who was an emblematic figure in the history of Portugal.
